Staff and students can make video recordings more accessible with the tools we already have!
For example, the Live Caption feature is available in the latest version of Google Chrome web browser. When it’s activated, closed captions will appear on the screen. The live caption can also be incorporated into our Lecture Theatre Recordings (LTRs) and the recordings uploaded to the University’s Mediastore.

Teachers can also generate audio transcripts from Zoom recordings then make them available to students in Canvas courses. Alternatively, Otter.ai offers transcriptions for up to 600 minutes of recordings per month.
