Canvas weekly training sessions will be available starting from January 2023. All sessions will be hosted on Teams, and are open to everyone.

Session descriptions

Canvas Introduction

We will introduce Canvas to anyone who is new to teaching at the University and those who want a refresher. It offers an overview of the basic features of Canvas such as: Navigation, announcements, modules, and assignments in Canvas. The sessions are not only open to new staff, but also to the experienced Canvas users.

Group and peer review assignments

The sessions will provide an overview of how to set up group and / or peer review assignments in Canvas, and a quick view of some alternative peer review / team member evaluation tools.

Digital assessment

The sessions will cover:

• The basics of setting up assignments, and assignment groups with weights in Canvas,
• Marking and providing feedback in SpeedGrader,
• Creating and using rubrics.
